PARC01 - ECTS

General objective

The objective is to develop students’ knowledge of English in several areas, such as reading comprehension, writing, correct use of technical terms, grammar, fluency and personal interaction. Students will be acquainted with concepts and procedures used in the workplace, and will be able to apply technical language to specific contexts.

Object-oriented Programming

PARC19 - ECTS -Understand the essential elements of the new programming paradigm. -Know how to define models of reality from the new paradigm. -Understand and apply the fundamental concepts of object-oriented programming using one of the existing object-oriented programming languages.
-Know how to build application solutions according to the object-oriented paradigm using the studied programming language.
-Knowing how to correctly structure the developed code making it robust, reusable and modular.
-Ability to work in a team.
-Capacity of logical and formal reasoning that allows you to analyze complex problems.
-Ability to analyze problems and build their solution using the programming paradigm studied.
-Use data from technical and scientific literature.

Computer Networks

PARC05 - ECTS The fundamental objective of the Computer Networks Course Unit is to provide Students with basic knowledge in the area of Computer Networks. The aspects dealt with include the theoretical foundations, and the project, installation and maintenance of Local Computer Networks. In a final phase, aspects to increase network security are addressed.

Mathematical Applications B

PARC20 - ECTS

The objective of this course is to provide students with basic knowledge of complex numbers and some notions of Linear Algebra (namely matrices, determinants, vector calculus and analytic geometry in the plane).

It is intended that students understand the notions and elementary properties of these topics, so that they know how to use these mathematical tools, necessary in their training as senior technicians.

Internetworking

PARC06 - ECTS This Curricular Unit, the successor of the Computer Networks Curricular Unit, has the fundamental objective of providing students with knowledge for the design, specification, implementation and maintenance of Business Computer Networks.

At the beginning, the routing equipment and the protocols associated with its operation are studied. Next, advanced aspects of the configuration of local networks and network services are studied. Finally, emerging protocols in networks are studied, such as Voice over IP Systems (VoiP) and Gateway Redundancy Protocols.

Microcontrollers

PARC10 - ECTS This course unit aims to provide students with the knowledge to carry out small projects on a microcontroller platform.

Relational Database Management Systems

PARC09 - ECTS
  • Know the potential of a Relational Database Management System - RDBMS
  • Application layer modeling aimed at supporting data persistence
  • Construction and Manipulation of Relational Database Schemas
  • Inserting, Updating, Querying and Manipulating Data in Relational Databases
  • Development of interface of logical level of interaction with the DB

Communication Systems,Technologies and Techniques

PARC16 - ECTS This Curricular Unit aims to develop in students the knowledge and understanding of technologies, architectures and services of transmission, fixed access (copper, cable and fiber optic pair) and mobile telecommunications networks, contributing to the acquisition of skills at the analysis, design, implementation and maintenance of telecommunication systems and services involving different systems and means of transmission, switching and access.

Computer Network Administration and Security

PARC07 - ECTS Currently, companies and institutions have computer networks permanently connected to the internet. Ensuring the integrity, confidentiality and availability of data and its routing on the network is a daily task for IT managers and technicians.

In this subject, various security aspects that must be addressed in the design, implementation and maintenance of the IT infrastructure are addressed. Practical mechanisms for real-time monitoring of the operation of computer networks are also studied.

Operating Systems and Network Services

PARC13 - ECTS Currently, companies and institutions have computer networks permanently connected to the internet. Ensuring the integrity, confidentiality and availability of data and its routing on the network is a daily task for IT managers and technicians.

In this course unit, various security aspects that must be addressed in the design, implementation and maintenance of the IT infrastructure are addressed. Practical mechanisms for real-time monitoring of the operation of computer networks are also studied.

Company Management and Organizational Behaviour

PARC12 - ECTS

Students should develop skills in the field of business management, organizational behaviour, leadership, and team management.

Project of Structured Computer Networks

PARC14 - ECTS The objective of this UC is to provide students with knowledge to carry out small and medium-sized Structured Network projects.

Internet Programming Technologies

PARC15 - ECTS

General objectives
