Objetivos

The main objectives are:

 

To know the principles of tissue regeneration from a biological and technological perspective

To know applications of regenerative medicine

To know laboratory techniques of cell cultures

To design three-dimensional scaffolds for tissue regeneration

To know how to build Scaffolds through conventional techniques and additive manufacturing

Resultados de aprendizagem e competências

This UC is intended to provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge with a laboratory focus that will allow them to have a critical attitude towards biomedical applications in the field of tissue and organ regeneration. The applicability of these techniques in areas of medicine is maximized among students by the collaboration with the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and with the 3D laboratory of ESTSetubal.

Métodos de ensino e atividades de aprendizagem

The teaching methodologies are expository and participatory, with different moments of discussion and also moments of analysis of real cases. In the theoretical-practical component, support documents will be used, which can be viewed digitally either through the projection of contents or through the visualization of films and animations. The practical component is of a laboratory nature, involving the execution of protocols for several works.

 

TP classes will be taught remotely using the remote collaboration platform MS-Teams or Colibri/Zoom, while PL classes will be taught in person.

Obtenção de frequência

Continuous assessment consists of 2 reports (30%, 30%,) of laboratory and group work (3-4 students) and an individual knowledge test (40%). The average of the assessment instruments must be equal to or greater than 9.5 points. The student will be able to carry out evaluation in an exam, consisting of a written test, which will include the theoretical and laboratory components with a weight of 100% of the UC evaluation.

Fórmula de cálculo da classificação final

Final Classification= Test*0,4+0,3*R1+0,3*R2

R1 and R2 are two different reports, one for each Pl module of the UC
