thyristor operation.
Implement circuits with JFET, MOSFET

Fundamentals of Power Electronics

VE10 - ECTS

Fundamentals of Electrical Machines I

VE11 - ECTS The UC Fundamentals of Electrical Machines is a basic course in the field of electromechanical energy conversion. Learning the methods and physical concepts that underlie it, aims to develop in students fundamental skills that allow them to understand the operating regimes of the Direct Current Machine (CCM) and Transformers (TR).
It is also intended that students are in possession of instruments (base knowledge and bibliographic guidelines) that allow the eventual continuation and deepening of studies. In structuring the UC, and in order to achieve the proposed objectives, laboratory-based exercises and problem solving are sought to consolidate and complement theoretical knowledge.

Microcontrollers Based Project

VE09 - ECTS

To provide specialized knowledge to the implementation of small scale microcontroller based projects and to develop the ability to be able to do critical analysis of microcontroller based systems, program debug and both autonomous and team work.

Traction Battery Management and Charging

VE13 - ECTS Provide students with the skills necessary to design and maintain traction batteries, chargers, and systems necessary for correct battery management.
Carrying out laboratory work in a group. Alert students to aspects related to the organization of the workspace and safety in handling this type of equipment.

Sensors and Actuators for Vehicles

VE15 - ECTS •Describe measurement characteristics in terms of accuracy and uncertainty of sensors and actuators.
•Specify and design functional modules for measuring non-electrical quantities electrically. Dimensioning devices for converting electrical signals into standardized values.
•Know and characterize different sensors used in the car to measure different variables.
•Based on the transducers studied, know and characterize different actuators used in the car to change the parameters of the variables.
•Know and describe the main means of transmitting signals in the car.
•Understand and build in blocks a measurement chain established between sensor and actuator elements.

Vehicles Electronic Systems

VE14 - ECTS
Provide students with the knowledge and skills that allow them to know the most common electronic systems in vehicles and intervene in their maintenance.

Automobile Mechanical Systems

VE16 - ECTS Understand and explain the influence of different constructive solutions used in the steering, suspension, braking and transmission subsystems on the dynamic behavior of the car.

Electric Traction

VE12 - ECTS This curricular unit allows the development of technical and scientific skills in the area of electric traction of road vehicles.
Relate and describe the constitution and principle of operation of the electric machines used in electric road vehicles: induction machine and permanent magnet synchronous machine.
Competences will be developed in the interpretation of the energy diagram of the machine, starting, braking and speed control.
Carrying out work in group for to sensitize the students to the aspects related to the organization of the workspace and the safety in the manipulation of this type of equipment.
