Technical English

SEC01 - ECTS

General objective

The objective is to develop students’ knowledge of English in several areas, such as reading comprehension, writing, correct use of technical terms, grammar, fluency and personal interaction. Students will be acquainted with concepts and procedures used in the workplace, and will be able to apply technical language to specific contexts.

Introduction to Programming

SEC07 - ECTS
  • Develop and improve logical and formal reasoning skills that allow you to analyze complex problems;
  • Present the conceptual foundations and develop skills related to computer programming:
    • Understanding the general principles of software engineering;
    • Understanding and valuing the central role of the Algorithm;
    • Learn the fundamentals of digital systems, number bases and base conversions;
    • Development of logical and algorithmic reasoning;
    • Learning a programming language and its application in solving paradigmatic exercises.

Introduction to Telecommunications

SEC09 - ECTS This Curricular Unit contributes to the understanding of telecommunications systems, including the knowledge of the theory associated with electric and magnetic fields, the design, implementation and maintenance of communication systems involving different means of transmission and explanation of the operating principles of circuits present in telecommunications systems.
It also allows the development of skills in terms of signal processing and interpretation of uncertainties inherent to the measurement processes of physical quantities.

Mathematical Applications B

SEC19 - ECTS

The objective of this course is to provide students with basic knowledge of complex numbers and some notions of Linear Algebra (namely matrices, determinants, vector calculus and analytic geometry in the plane).

It is intended that students understand the notions and elementary properties of these topics, so that they know how to use these mathematical tools, necessary in their training as senior technicians.

Analog Electronics

SEC11 - ECTS Describe the characteristics of semiconductors.
Distinguish P-type and N-type semiconductors.
Characterize the PN junction.
Carry out assemblies with diodes and carry out the analysis
of the circuits.
To characterize the different types of circuits used in the
rectification.
Describe Zener diodes in terms of their
constitution, characteristics and applications.
Recognize the constitution, types and symbology of the
bipolar transistor.
To characterize the functioning of the bipolar transistor.
Identify the fundamental assemblies: EC, BC, CC.
Analyze the characteristic curves of the transistor in EC.
Characterize the structure and functioning of the various
types of FET
Implement circuits with JFET, MOSFET
Implement basic circuits with AMPOPs

Microcontrollers
