The learning goals of this discipline are set on specific áreas of physics and its biomedical applications on the fields of medicine and biology.
|
The main objective is that at the end of the UC the student can understand the importance of a structured development method through the presentation of case studies.
This unit present a strong practical-laboratory component, promoting students to achieve skills for laboratory work autonomy, as well as to plan the experimental work according to the theoretic basis of the studies. The collaboration with the Faculty ofMedical Sciences of the New University of Lisbon, in particular with the CEDOC laboratories, is an added value to this unit.
The main objectives are:
To know the principles of tissue regeneration from a biological and technological perspective
To know applications of regenerative medicine
To know laboratory techniques of cell cultures
To design three-dimensional scaffolds for tissue regeneration
To know how to build Scaffolds through conventional techniques and additive manufacturing
Learn to master the concepts of Quality and Risk applied to health and medical devices in particular.
Develop competencies to elaborate plans, procedures and management of documented information, referring to management systems.
Know how to apply health quality control tools.
Mastering concepts and techniques for auditing health organizations based on the frameworks studied.
Master the research on legal compliance applied to specific medical devices.
Acquire metrology skills in health.
Understand the methodologies used in the certification and accreditation processes of health institutions, laboratories and medical devices.
